Engro earnings jump 51pc

Ingro reported a profit after tax of 2.9 billion rupees in the second quarter of FY19, resulting in an increase in earnings per share to Rs 4.97, a 51% increase over the same period last year.

Earnings in the first half of the year were Rs.19.9 billion, or earnings per share of Rs.11.93, a year-on-year increase of 13%.

In addition to the results, the company announced a cash dividend of 8 rupees per share, resulting in a cumulative dividend of 15 rupees per share in the first half of 2019.

Allied Bank Limited reported a profit after tax of 1.9 billion rupees (EPS: 5.45 rupees) for the first quarter of this year, a 14% reduction to PAT of 7.2 billion rupees and an annual return of 6.36 rupees.

The bank also announced a dividend of Rs 2 per share, resulting in a payment of Rs 4 per share for the first half of the year.

In the second quarter of 1919, the company reported a profit of 2.75 rupees, a 2% increase from the previous month but a 7% decrease from the same period last year.
